Maundy Thursday

As we commemorate Holy Week and follow Jesus’s journey to the Cross, we will gather on Thursday evening at 7:30 for a service of Holy Communion and foot washing (optional). The Scripture for this service, John 13: 1—17; 31b—35, tells the story of Jesus’s last meal with his disciples and his service to them of washing their feet. Pastor Tapa will preach on “The New Commandment,” which Jesus gives his disciples:  to care for one another, following his example. We will sing two hymns, “Were You There” and “What Wondrous Love Is This,” before we conclude the service by stripping the altar to demonstrate the desolation and abandonment of Jesus.

We hope that you can join us for this solemn service of Holy Week.
