A Word from Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño
December 19, 2016
Friends,
Let us be in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Germany in light of the attack at the Berlin Christmas Market. I have reached out to my colleague, Bishop Rosemarie Wenner, who leads The United Methodist Churches in that area. It seems from afar the attack may have been in retaliation for the kindness that Germany has provided to migrants. Whatever the cause may have been, it is truly sad that the attack would be on a gathering that celebrates the coming of the Prince of Peace. I am deeply grateful for Bishop Wenner’s witness in Germany and all of Europe and beyond. My prayer for her is that she may be sustained as she shepherds the church in Germany, and that our churches may be light in a moment of deep darkness.
Peace,
Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño
