This is a reminder about Daylight Savings. Don’t forget to move your clocks ahead on Sunday morning, March 9th (“Spring Forward”).
So, at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning turn your clocks forward to 3:00 a.m. This way your alarm will ring an hour earlier than it would have otherwise so you can make it on time for Sunday worship service at 10:00 a.m. (i.e., what would have been 9:00 am on the old time).
Introductory Workshop Schedule for 2014:
Every 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the church
Are you interested in learning how to quiet your mind and how to become more centered in your daily life?
Centering Prayer Meditation is a simple method of meditation, traditionally called contemplative prayer in Christianity. Contemplative Prayer is the opening of mind and heart – our whole being – to God, the Ultimate Mystery, beyond thoughts, words and emotions. The practice can offer a way to the rest in divine, calm and clarity to these hectic and pressure of daily life.
This introduction to Centering Prayer Meditation includes both instruction and practice in meditation techniques that foster contemplative prayer and practice in your everyday life. During each session there will be a period of meditation followed by group discussion and questions.
The possibility of making a church labyrinth, probably outside behind the church, is being seriously explored.
We plan to have a meeting this coming Sunday, 9/22/13, right after the church service. Please join Hee-Soon and the rest of us to discuss the next steps forward towards our very own labyrinth!
For more information see: church labyrinth. Please contact us or comment below if you are interested in joining discussions on this subject or have some expertise which might be helpful.
