Come and experience a meaningful morning of worship filled with beautiful music\, prayer\, God’s Word\, and fellowship. \nOur Scripture reading comes from Genesis 32:22–31\, the powerful story of Jacob wrestling with God. In this life-changing encounter\, Jacob refuses to let go until he receives God’s blessing. Through the struggle\, God transforms Jacob\, giving him a new name and a renewed purpose. This passage reminds us that even in our own battles\, doubts\, and challenges\, God is at work shaping us\, strengthening our faith\, and blessing us in ways we may not yet see. \nPastor Katai’i Tapa will bring the message:”Let’s Wrestle with God Until We Are Blessed.” As we gather around the Lord’s Table for Holy Communion\, may we come with open hearts\, trusting that God meets us in both our struggles and our victories. \nWhether you are a regular attendee or visiting for the first time\, there is a place for you here. Our candidate\, William Orecchia\, will bring the message: “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots.” These two passages of Scripture invite us to look deeper not just at how we appear on the outside\, but at what is growing inside our hearts. Jesus teaches us that what comes out of our hearts matters. Sometimes there are things growing within us that God never planted anger\, bitterness\, pride\, unforgiveness\, judgment\, and fear. God wants to pull those things up by the roots so that something better can grow. Then we met a Canaanite woman\, whose daughter needed healing. Even when she faced obstacles and seemed to receive no answer\, she refused to give up. Jesus ultimately recognized her great faith. Come hear the Gospel\, enjoy beautiful music\, fellowship with one another\, and let’s get back to the meaning of going to church not simply attending\, but coming together to worship\, hear God’s Word\, grow in faith\, and encourage one another. \nSHARE this Page via your:\n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n More\n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr URL:https://csumchurch.com/event/every-plant-that-my-heavenly-father-has-not-planted-will-be-pulled-up-by-the-roots/ LOCATION:Crystal Springs United Methodist Church\, 2145 Bunker Hill Drive\, San Mateo\, CA\, 94402\, United States CATEGORIES:Sunday ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://csumchurch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/5C783B65-5583-4339-B880-FEEADCB0F5E8-1.png END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20260823T100000 DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20260823T110000 DTSTAMP:20260823T015656Z CREATED:20260823T015656Z LAST-MODIFIED:20260823T015656Z UID:12074-1787479200-1787482800@csumchurch.com SUMMARY:Happy Are Those Who Know That Christ Is the Son of God DESCRIPTION:Please join us this Sunday\, August 23\, at 10:00 AM as we gather together for worship\, fellowship\, and the joy of being together in God’s house. We will enjoy beautiful music from Jonathan Wing\, our pianist\, as we prepare our hearts for worship. \nOur Scripture Reading is Matthew 16:13–20\, where Jesus asks His disciples\, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter boldly declares that Jesus is the Messiah\, the Son of the living God.
