Safe Harbor – Feeding the Homeless
Since 1987, Samaritan House has been providing beds to the homeless. Safe Harbor Shelter was created to meet county needs for short-term emergency housing options in San Mateo County. Affordable housing is scarce and costly in the San Francisco Bay area and many low-income residents find themselves being priced out of their homes and communities.
Samaritan House is committed to providing programs and services at Safe Harbor to meet the critical needs of homeless individuals in the community. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where our shelter residents can focus on building a brighter future.
Every second Thursday of the month, a group of church members from Crystal Springs UMC go to Safe Harbor and help with feeding the homeless.
